Guests were treated with a lunch of prawn rice, mixed with the African
culinary favorite, Jollof rice, with chops of fried plantain by the side, and
chicken wings to go. After which they took a tour, celebrating with the
children and donating to the sustenance of the home. Shoes, clothes, and
cupcakes were also auctioned, and donated to the children and staff of the
home. Artistes, Kent Oxygen, JDon, G-Girl, Olusho, and the amazing voice from
Pacelli School of the blind wowed the guests with the sonority of their voices,
the dexterity of their tunes, and the melodiousness of their rhythm.
Team leader, Chaste Inegbedion encouraged the guests to continue the
celebrations and donations to charity. Speaking on the #3k4Orphans campaign, he said the idea is to raise One million,
five hundred thousand naira from 500 donors so that the home can start a
business venture that will sustain them. He commended the Support of Donors
most especially Mr. Akin Fatunke, manager, public & government relations of
Exxon Mobil who had flown in to Lagos to attend the event and support the
campaign.
The Giving Garage team presented the gifts from various donors to the
home, thanking them for their kind reception. Mrs. Laja also thanked all guests
present, and the giving garage team for their efforts, saying that God’s
blessings will not cease in their lives.
