Paul Ukpabio's Blog goes to America as Offot Ukwa Association holds 3 Day Convention in Dallas

This weekend promises to be a weekend like no other, as members, friends and well-wishers of Offot Ukwa Association convene in Dallas, USA, for the Association's 5th Anniversary Convention and Fundraising Event.

  

The event which has been well promoted in and outside the United State of America will take off
on the 27^th of May and end on the 29^th of May 2016. And it is expected to bring together a large number of Nigerian professionals home and abroad.

According to Becky Ekaete Austin, the Association anniversary Chairperson, “the fundraising aspect of the celebration is to enable the association to ship and distribute 23,000 books (a container load) mostly math and science books to primary, secondary, colleges in Akwa Ibom State. These books will only benefit the underprivileged students to enhance their learning process for a better tomorrow. Please come partner with us in giving back to our communities. God bless you richly. Only Love of God can motivate us to help others in need.”

This year’s theme for the annual celebration is “promoting unity through community investment.” When the invitation letters which were also forwarded to the US Embassy in Lagos arrived, we thought it would be for one. But alas, Paul Ukpabio’s Blog got two invitations to cover this most important celebration.

Meanwhile the big welcome party will take place on Friday; while there will be a red carpet for stars on Saturday at the main event. There will also be great performances and the entire convention will be wrapped up with dance, dance, and dance.
