The Night 'Urban 96 FM' brought down Lekki Coliseum Rooftop

Friday nights are special nights in Lagos. The nightlife is heavy around the city. From the neon light districts of Ikeja, Surulere, Maryland, in the mainland area, down to highbrow Lekki and Victoria Island, the nightlife bubbles like there’s no tomorrow.

Penultimate Friday was no exception as Alphavision Multimedia, operators of Urban 96 FM threw her ‘Big Switch’ party that doubled as official launch of her 96.5 Lagos dial, which kicked off operations months ago, after an initial test transmission.

The event, which took place at Lekki Coliseum Rooftop, saw Lagos fans, Music lovers, Media and Marketing Royalty celebrities hitting the roof with the ‘Feel Good Hit Music’ Radio dial.

DJ Neptune set things off with
the biggest party anthems at about 7PM and later went on to take requests from guests on the dance floor, with the OAPs taking turns to climb the stage, to introduce themselves and the shows they host on the 96.5 dial in an improvised radio studio, right on stage accompanied by electrifying performances from Mayorkun, Reekado Banks, Skales, Solidstar, Saeon, Adekunle Gold, AjeButter22, Mr. 2kay, Viktoh, Endia, Yung L, Niniola and more.

In attendance were personalities from every sphere of the industry from Corporate to TV celebs, Musicians and socialites – Andrea Manuella Giaccaglia, Noble Igwe, Paul Okeugo (Chocolate City), Segun Demuren (EME), Ebuka, Sound Sultan, Olu Maintain among many esteemed guests.

Fans at home didn’t miss in on the action as The event was streamed live to audience and users of the Urban96 android and iOS app (including urban96.tv website) via the Digital/Mobile-only TV Channel – Urban96TV with the official hashtag getting over 7,040,964 impressions on social media.

Urban 96.5 FM is set to give its audience a rich double-pop culture experience on air and on the go. Owing to the modern style of radio broadcast, listeners can also be viewers as they get to watch the live goings-on of their favorite shows via #Urban96TV 24/7.
