A loud alarm has been sounded by the United States Consulate in Nigeria about a likely terror attack in Lagos, Nigeria’s biggest city. According to a statement published on the website of the US Mission, top hotels in Lagos, a regular spots for expatriates, are the likely targets of the terrorists. And these terrorists have decided to choose the celebrations days marking the EID EL FITR, to perpetuate their evil act on the citizens and the entire nation.
The US message goes further to warn that foreign citizens and everyone should be sensitive and alert about this intended attack by the terrorists. The US exact alert words: “The U.S. Mission in Nigeria reminds you to review your personal security plans, remain aware of your surroundings, including local events, and monitor local news stations for updates. Be vigilant and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security,”
Springing
to action, the Lagos State Police Command
has assured Lagosians of their safety throughout the celebration days and even
after. Spokesman of the command, Dolapo Badmus, A Superintendent of Police
said: The command has put up operational strategy to ensure that citizens
within the state are adequately secured. The command is on ground, we are not
letting our guards”
