The joy in serving humanity, was much evident penultimate Sunday when Rotarians in District 9110, gathered at a popular Event Centre at Ikeja, Lagos, along with their friends from other service clubs, to roll in a new service year in the life of the Rotary Club of Isolo.
At the event were top notch

And they included District Governor Pat Ikheloa, Past District Governor Michael Olawale-Cole, Past District Governor Yinka Babalola, Past President Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Mother of the Day, Inner Wheel Club President Julie Sekoni, AG Sunday Gbenjo, Past President Bosun Jeje, and a host of others.

And the event was not just to
roll in a new service year, but also the investiture ceremony of the 36th
President of the club along with induction of Board Members for the 2016/2017
Rotary year.
This time around, the mantle
of leadership fell on an amiable young man Rotarian Wasiu Adeyemo Babalola, who
has within a short time conquered the hospitality and tourism industry, and has
extensive social links in the society.
And so, in the Rotary
fashion, amidst the rendition of songs, the resounding of words of pledges for
continuous support of humanity, the out-going president Chief Mrs Lolade Temitope-Ogungbe
relinquished power to the new president Rotarian Wasiu Adeyemo Babalola.
There was fabulous lunch
and other kinds of refreshment, as a fund raising took place under the guidance
of Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon.
He was able to raise money in multiple figures to kick start the new Rotary Club of Isolo exco. PAG Bola
Oyebade told all at the event what Rotary Club is all about, first in parables
and later in dramatic words of action.
While acknowledging and
appreciating his fellow club members for the honour bestowed on him, the new president of the club, Rotarian Wasiu Adeyemo Babalola, recalled the memory of his late mother Chief Mrs Adijat Babalola (nee
Akingbile) and her contributions to his present day success, his Dad Deacon L.T.A Babalola, his
lifelong partner Kikelomo Babalola who is a member of Inner Wheel Club, his
three children, all boys, and he also seized the opportunity to call on his fellow club
members to support him, as they set out to carry out various humanity projects
throughout this next service year.
