It
was yet another night of excitement for fans of LIVE BAND Music, when Club
Nitro played host to the musical show tagged ‘GLORIA IBRU AND FRIENDS’ which
held its 5th edition at the venue.
Having
successfully staged four previous editions in the last four months at different
locations in Lagos, fans at Victoria Island had a taste of the well
packaged show, headlined by the undisputed goddess of JAZZ LIFE music, Gloria
Ibru in an electrifying atmosphere.
The
event kicked off with performances from
the 'Young Guns' such as; SOMA, DON STEFANO, the HYD group and finally Gloria Ibru's protege Day9, whose outstanding performance paved way to a standing ovation when the goddess GLORIA IBRU stepped on stage, performing hit tracks from her up coming debut album as well as classic melodies which the audience could not help but dance and sing along to.

The
night was far from being over, as STAN IYKE proved to the ladies that sometimes
the best things come in small packages, showing how much he is a lady's man
with his brand of music.
Just
when fans thought they had seen and heard it all, what arguably turned out to
be the highlight of the show, was the appearance of current Hip-Hop World Award
winning Lyrist on the Roll Vector performing along side Gloria Ibru for the
first time, to her hit single 'Only For Sometime' which features in Gloria
Ibru's upcoming album in the coming months.
The
night was crowned with the performance of pop icon of the 90s Alex O, who took
those in attendance down memory lane with his hits, eventually rounding off his
performance with a birthday song for Vector as it turned out to be his birthday
in the early hours of the morning with a cake presented to him by Gloria Ibru and
Friends crew. The G. NOTES live band also proved to all and Sundry why they are
gradually being regarded as Africa's number one band!
Special
guests and dignitaries included the likes of DEDE MABIAKU, AMBASSADOR ELAJOE
and JAFEXTRA to mention but a few. While the combination of ELVINA IBRU of
Classic FM and JUSTICE ATIGOGO as MCs for the night, proved to always be on
point in their delivery and direction of a well packaged show.
It
is not in doubt that, attendees of the show, can't wait for the September
edition, which as always comes up on the first Saturday of every month.
See you at the concert next month.
Very nice!
