Confucius Institute, University of Lagos, Nigeria, celebrates Open Day

Tuesday 27th, September 2016, was a red letter day at the Confucius Institute, University of Lagos. According to the Chinese Director of the Institute, Ms. Wang Yongjing, it is a special day for the celebration of the life and time of the great philosopher Confucius who lived between (551-479BC). "Confucius was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician and philosopher of Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history."

He is said
to have emphasised on "personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity. He is also credited with having authored or edited many of the Chinese classic texts." 

Mrs O. N. Sam-Ejehu the Administrative Secretary of The Institute said that the celebration takes place all over the world, where the Institute is located with activities to mark the day. Such activities that teach on arts, crafts, general learning and so on.

It was an opportunity for the students of the University of Lagos and others who stopped by, to learn with their hands and also acquire knowledge about the Chinese culture.
