The
Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria, (FADAN), has dispelled rumours that
there is division in the body. FADAN recently in a press statement referred to as
baseless and false, such suggested report in a section of the local press.
The statement
signed by FADAN President Mrs. Funmi Ajila-Ladipo commended the press for its
solidarity and objectivity towards the progress of the fashion body over the
years. According to her, “Over the years, we have been able to build an
association that has become a force to reckon with. Your dependability has
continued to strengthen our efforts and we are confident that together we will
climb to greater heights.
“Despite
the misleading article in one of the newspapers, we want to reassure you that
FADAN as an organisation remain strong and on course. The issues has been
looked into and resolved internally, and we are happy to announce to you our
esteemed friends and the public that the episode has made FADAN become better
and stronger as an association.”
The
FADAN President used the opportunity to intimate the press of the forthcoming yearly
Fashion festival tagged FADAN RUNWAY 2017.
This
she said, “is a fashion show/exhibition organised by the association, that
brings together, designers and textile companies from all over Nigeria to
promote the Nigerian Fashion Industry. The event she assured will hold in
October, 2017.
“We
will also have The Fashion Master Class, which is a training class created
to help both the emerging and existing designers brush up their fashion
skills with the intension to promote businesses in the Fashion Industry.
More information about these events will be announced later,” the press
statement concluded.
