Oyo State Government has called for peaceful
co-existence, urging neighbouring States to be calm and cautious over boundary
disputes.
Mr. Olalekan Alli, Secretary to the State Government,
made the assurance for peaceful co-existence during the mediation meeting between
Oyo and Osun States over boundary disputes which took place at Odo -Ewi,
Ogbomoso, Oyo State on Wednesday.
He pleaded with the people to live peacefully and
avoid actions that could lead to violence among one another.
He also assured the communities represented at the
forum that the National Boundary Commission sitting on the matter, will soon
come up with a lasting solution.
On his part, the representative of Commissioner of
Police, Oyo State, ASP Chinedu Oko asked all to go about their businesses in
peace as the Police Force in the State will continue to monitor the state’s
boundaries to maintain law and order.
