The Festival which has grown to attract
Local and Foreign tourists to the Ancient City of Oyo promises to be
entertaining and exciting as several South West States featured culture, dance
and food.
According to Dr. Paula Gomes, The Cultural
Ambassador to The Alaafin of Oyo, his Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Lamidi Olayiwola
Adeyemi III, this year’s Festival attracted visitors from Cuba, Brazil, USA and
Portugal, while the Brazilian Ambassador was the Special Guest.
The Festival has grown and attracted the
sponsorship of various organizations including Grand Oak, Guinness Nigeria
Plc., British American Tobacco (BAT), International Distilleries and State
Governments.
The Festival lasted for ten (10) days, from
Thursday August the 17th to Saturday 26th of August, 2017
at the Festival Arena, Alaafin’s Palace.
The Festival is also endorsed by the
Federal Government through the Tourism and Culture Agencies.
