The All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, came to an end on Sunday, November
12, 2017 as winners emerged in the thirty-four categories of the award hosted
by African American Senegalese superstar, Akon and Paris based Cameroonian,
Sophy.
Wizkid
(Nigeria) won three awards in the Artiste of the year; song of the year; and Best Male Artiste in West Africa categories. Toofan (Togo), AliKiba (Tanzania) and Gilad Milo
(Kenya) went away with two awards each; Gilad won two awards in the Best Male Artiste in Inspirational and Best Artiste in African Rock. AliKiba went with Best African Collaboration and Best Artiste or Group in African RnB & Soul while Toofan won Best Africa Group and Best Artiste in African Pop.
2baba (Nigeria) also had cause to celebrate, and so did Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Simi
(Nigeria), Wande Coal (Nigeria), Ycee (Nigeria), Orezi (Nigeria), Montess
(Cameroon), Locko (Cameroon), Nandy (Tanzania), Eddy Kenzo (Uganda),
Ibitssam Tiskat (Morocco).
Shayfeen
(Morocco), Thandiswa (South Africa), Emtee (South Africa), Tiwa Savage
(Nigeria), Asikey (Nigeria), Neza (Rwanda), Toofan (Togo), Nduduzo
Mhakatini (South Africa), Nsoki (Angola), Halmelmal Abate (Ethiopia), The
Dogg (Namibia), Adaza Cookey (Nigeria), Shyn (Madagascar), DJ Coublon
(Nigeria) all had an award to pick at the big African entertainment event.
There were performances from Toofan (Togo), Vector (Nigeria), Emtee
(South Africa), Ewube (Cameron), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Thandiswa (South
Africa), Harrysong (Nigeria), Rue (Zimbabwe), Ed Isaac (Nigeria), Nsoki
(Angola), Falz (Nigeria), Qritical (Kenya), Simi (Nigeria), Henok &
Mehari Brothers (Ethiopia), Sheyi Shay (Nigeria), Ycee (Nigeria), Becca
(Ghana), Montess (Cameroon), Gilad Milo (Kenya), and Locko (Cameroon).
