- Amodu
A key stakeholder in the Nigeria
movie industry, Yemi Amodu has called out both Ondo State and federal governments
to place Nollywood veteran actor, Dabo Jibola in a top relevant capacity where
his wealth of experience and values can be explored for national growth and
youth development.
Amodu dropped these hints with
journalists in Ibadan on Friday (January 26, 2018) during the ongoing recording
of his latest film "Shadow Parties" a movie which featured Omotola
Jalade, Yemi Blaq, Jide Kosoko, Rachael Okonkwo, Ken Ericks, Segun Arinze etc.
According to Yemi Amodu;"Elder
Dabo Jibola is to me a brother, friend and senior professional colleague, and I
must say he is a gem, a good listener, a professional to the core. His uncommon
imputs and professional excellence in my current movie "Shadow
Parties" also proved me right about his quality, competence and attention
to details. An asset in the industry like my brother Dabo Jibola must be
celebrated and put in a place of pride, rightfully so. This is a wake up call
for Ondo State government and also government at the federal level.
His ingenious values in the
make-belief industry will definitely stand the test of time. One thing that
amazed me most about him is the passionate manner he often speaks about his
state of origin, Ondo State. His choice of words are indication that he is a
great patriot and a man of honour who mean well for his country and will make a
difference when or if given the opportunity"
Amodu added, "I urge Nigerian
government across board to celebrate and honour him, such gesture will equally
influence our youths to legitimately pursue dreams of becoming renowned
personalities whether in the movie industry or other fields of endeavour which
their parents and country can be proud of.
His Excellency Governor Rotimi
Akeredolu who looks so much like Dabo Jibola's twin brother should address this
matter with all seriousness it deserves. I respect this Governor a lot right
from his days of legal practice and believe he will heed this clarion call
" Amodu disclosed.
Dabo Jibola has over the years
participated actively in various films and soap opera locally and internationally
and has contributed significantly towards societal reformation and individual
reorientation through movie production and other advocacy initiative to foster
development, just and egalitarian society. These are meritorious feats of this
great iconic brand that have remained enviable and indelible. His influence and
reputation have earned him carrier of vision and purpose.
The Owo born ace actor, writer and
director has truly paid his dues in the make- belief industry. He is a holder
of a Master degree in Mass Media from the Columbia State University, United
States, Jibola is also a holder of a first degree in Fine Arts. He
majored in graphics. Also to his credit, he is a recipient of the Zuma
best actor of the year award.
