Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, a Lagos based group made
up of social activist, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), artisans,
political groups and youths, in felicitating with the wife of Lagos State
Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode as she added another to her age, described her as
one in a million, for her staunch support of her husband’s progressive work for
Lagos, and for being a woman of the people.
Bamigbade Seyi the coordinator, said this when the
group recently visited Alhaji Musa Muhammed, Lagos State Chairman, Road
Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), at his office in Alimosho,
Lagos, where the group shared its enthusiasm for the ongoing voter card
registration and positive mobilization, for Akinwunmi Ambode 2nd
term in office.
He described the wife of the Governor of Lagos State,
as a role model and shining star in the state’s political firmament. “Bolanle
is a detribalized Lagosian who has traversed the length and breadth of the
state, helping less privileged people, seeking the emancipation of women and
the youths for an egalitarian society. He said.
“Her undying love for the downtrodden, the deprived and
the ordinary folks cuts across the state and this is widely acknowledged, while
her unflinching backing for the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration has
helped tremendously in the fulfillment of its electioneering promises to
Lagosians.’’
Bamigbade also acknowledged Bolanle’s support to the
Governor, saying this had served as a motivating factor for the successes.
“As you are savouring the joy of this occasion, it is
our prayer that God Almighty strengthens you so that you can continue working
beyond 2019 for the betterment of your fatherland,’’ he said.
Alhaji Musa Muhammed, the Lagos State Chairman, Road
Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), thanked the Itesiwaju
Ipinle Eko Vangarud for their tirelessness in ensuring Governor, Akinwunmi
Ambode win with more votes in the coming party primary and the general
election. He also said the association has set up committees to enforce that
all their members at motor parks across the state have voters card. He said the
directive is noted as ‘Operation No P.V.C No Work.’ This he said will
contribute towards the success of the Governor’s second term ambition.
“We have no worries because of the things the governor
has done across board, across all the Local Government Areas, across different
sectors, we have decided without a rebellious expression to seek his
re-election in 2019 as the Governor of Lagos State,” he said.
“We are also happy that Members of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives from Lagos State on Saturday
endorsed the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for a second term in office,
citing the massive infrastructural development and giant strides in all sectors
and sections of the State. We are also happy that the APC Caucus in the House
led by the Majority Leader, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, has also presented a letter
to the Governor at Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja asking him to re-contest in
2019,” Alhaji Musa Mohammed added.
