From Baptist to Celestial Church: When Ex President Obasanjo joined the White garment church

The enigmatic ex President of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, took everyone by surprise penultimate Saturday when he stormed Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, venue of ‘Celebrate The Comforter 2019’ crusade convened by Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, fully dressed in the robe of an ‘elder’ in Celestial Church!

A known and revered Baptist, Obj as he is fondly called, was ushered into TBS by Celestial church faithfuls with songs and dances. Known for being controversial and dramatic, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was first spotted among the white garment churches last year, at the United Palace, New York, USA 2018 where he delivered a goodwill message at a crusade, and urged the congregation of the white garment churches to abide by Christian virtues.

Last Saturday was a total confirmation that Obj may have moved his spiritual convictions from the Baptist church to Celestial Church of Christ. It was obvious that Obj was very comfortable and at peace with the White garment churches.

Many of those who graced the event, at the VIP corner, that included:  the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the Ooni of Ife,  Oba Adeyewa Enitan Ogunwusi, Oba of Ikorodu, Oba Kaburu; Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim worldwide, His Eminence, Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao; Supreme Head of the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide, Pastor Joseph Oshoffa; Chairman, Ovation Media Group, Chief Dele Momodu among others, were busy admiring Obj  in his new Celestial church robe.
