The Redeemer’s University Ede, Osun, state, NIgeria, is set to hold its 11th convocation ceremony and award of degrees of its graduands christened “Cynosure Set”.
The ceremonies will see a mix of different events and activities which will culminate in the award of Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees as well as conferment of honorary degrees.
According to a statement by the head of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye, a total of 329 students will be graduating in the bachelor’s degree category while 50 others will be awarded various post graduate degrees.
The ceremonies which will kick off on Thursday 5th September 2019 will see the graduands have a special meeting with the visitor to the university and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch AdejareAdeboye which will lead into a special anointing service at the September Holy Ghost Service of Friday 6th September at the Redemption Camp. The train will then return to the main campus of the University in Ede, Osun State where a university thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday 8th September.
By Tuesday 10th September, the University will be agog with students, parents, members of staff and friends of the University from all works of life who will be hosted at an awards and recognition ceremony. The Alumni will have a cocktail with the graduands thereafter. The following day will see the Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of Unity Bank Plc, Mrs. Tomi Somefun deliver the convocation lecture while the Convocation Play by the Theatre Arts Department holds same evening.
The convocation will come to a climax on Thursday 12th September when in addition to the 379 graduands, two eminent Nigerians will be conferred with honorary degrees in recognition of their sterling contribution to nation building especially in Corporate Nigeria and socio-educational sector. They are Chief Tunde Afolabi, Chairman, AMNI Group/AMNI International Petroleum Development Company and Mrs. Oluwatomi Somefun, Managing Director/ Chief Operating Officer,U Bank Plc
