RESCUED SOUTH AFRICAN RETURNEES SHOW GRATITUDE TO NIGERIA

It was indeed a day to be proud, to be a Nigerian. A day that societal class, culture, religion, language, tribe and education was set aside as Nigerian, South African returnees, arrived the airport in NIgeria.

They have just been rescued from the threatening death throes of xenophobia meted on them and other African nationals in South Africa, by South Africans.

Air Peace volunteered to rescue the Nigerians at a whopping cost that runs into millions of dollars.

Kudos must also be given to the office of the Chairman of the Diaspora Commission, Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa who was there to receive them along with the CEO of Air Peace. Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa's office among other things, has also facilitated a loan for the returnees through the Bank of Industry.

It was indeed an emotional moment, when the returnees unanimously stood up in one accord and rendered the Nigerian national anthem. A day to be a Nigerian. A day to be a proud Nigerian.
