The Supreme Court's dismissal of petition filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar challenging the  declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as winner of the February 23  presidential election for lack of merit, is being hailed as the best tidings for all lovers of democracy and a victory for all.

Describing the judgement as the “People's Expectation” in a release he personally signed and made available to the Press today in Ibadan, the former Senator representing Oyo South senatorial district and the Okanlomo of Ibadanland, Senator Adesoji Akanbi, lauded the judges for reading, interpreting and speaking the people's minds without any fear or favour.

Senator Adesoji Akanbi stated that, having been heard at the highest level, it behoves on the petitioners to “eat an humble pie” and join the present administration in moving Nigeria forward.

Senator Akanbi added that going by the exhilarating mood of the people on hearing the final judgement, one could say without any vestige of doubt, that the present administration enjoys massive  support of the masses. He therefore called on both President Buhari and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to make history with their victory at the apex court and strive to live up to the expectations of the teeming Nigerians who have given them the mandate to serve.

In his words: "I make bold to say that the judgement is an elixir of hope to the majority of Nigerians who are  yearning for the completion of the good work the PMB led administration has started. I therefore hope and pray that the government will live up to it's billing and fulfil all the promises made" .
