Join the Energy Sector Now As Rotary Club Trains Youths On Energy Management For Wealth Creation

The Rotary Club of Lagos Island, District 9110, has urged Nigerian youths to seek knowledge in energy management to tap huge employment opportunities in the field.
The call was made this week by Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, the President-elect of the club while briefing newsmen in Lagos.
Top officials of the club
The Club President elect noted that the energy sector had a lot of employment opportunities which Nigerian youth could latch on to create wealth for themselves and, in the long run become employers of labour.

According to him, such opportunities are in the areas of generator production, erecting and managing solar and grid as means of power and more.

“The youths can take up employment opportunities in the energy sector by going to acquire more knowledge in the field. It is a field that has not been overcrowded. I believe an individual who learns and knows much about the value chains of the sector can be an employer of labour as time goes on,” Srivastava said.

He said that the NGO (Rotary Club) would be training a good number of unemployed youths on Energy Management. He noted there were many more career paths in the energy sector which covered a wide spectrum of functional skills and abilities.

According to him, interested youths would be exposed to career opportunities like basic knowledge in the sector, insightful employability skills, key entrepreneurship skills, funding and energy project management.

According to him, the programme will be supported by the Community Rebirth Initiative for African Development (CRIAD).

He noted that the training would improve youths’ entrepreneurship and employability skills, saying it was important to tackle the problem of unemployment in the country.
The two-day intensive capacity building programme for the unemployed and youths will take place from January 30 to Jan. 31, 2020 and the venue will be: Ishk Tolaram Foundation Building, Fadeyi, Lagos. Luckily, the training will be free but the participants will have to register with N5,000. And upon completion, each participant will be issued a certificate of participation while the training will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The Rotary Club of Lagos Island, District 9110 President elect, called out interested individuals to indicate interest and visit the venue to be trained to become entrepreneurs and be financially independent as the training is also part of the NGO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to enable the youths get employability skills and connect the world for entrepreneurship development.

The programme, will enable participants be able to work in the energy sector and remain responsible citizens,” he added.
