High Society Celebrate With Late Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas’ Children, Grandchildren on 5th Remembrance

Few days ago, five years after the demise of notable socialite and philanthropist, Sir Molade Okoya-Thomas, his children and grandchildren rolled out drums to celebrate his life and times.

The glamorous event, which featured praises and heartfelt thanksgiving, was held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos with Rev. Fr Marcellinus Teko setting the pace with a soulful opening prayer after which BJ Sax took the congregation through a glorious praise and worship session.


Other ministers present were Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Pastor Kemi Onalaja, Rev. Samson Adedokun and Rev. Austin Onamia.

In her welcome address, daughter of the deceased, Honourable Jumoke Okoya-Thomas thanked guests that graced the occasion while eulogising the departed. The event witnessed bible reading, tributes, special renditions by Bola Udom as well as exhortations, hymns and prayers.


Son of the deceased, Deji Okoya-Thomas, was on hand to give the vote of thanks just as Pastor Kemi Onalaja prayed for the family of the deceased. Afterwards, guests were treated to a grand reception at the same venue.


In attendance were First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Eshinloku Sanni; Ambassador of France to Nigeria and ECOWAS, former Ambassador of France to Korea and Croatia, Mr Jérôme Pasquier; Otunba Adekunle Ojora and wife, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, Chief & Mrs Samuel Adedoyin, Alhaja Kuburat Okoya, Alhaji and Alhaja Tajudeen Okoya, Mr. & Mrs Segun Awolowo, Hajia Abbah Folawiyo and Senator Daisy Danjuma.


Also at the event was the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Alhaji Tunde Balogun; Senator Ita Giwa, Alhaja Fatima Bintu Tinubu, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kusenla III) and his wife Sekinat Elegushi; Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa; Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri Okunola; Prince Bisi Olatilo, Hon. Lanre Tejuoso, Dame Abimbola Fasola, Pastor and Mrs Dotun Ojelabi and Mrs Sean Anthony among others.
