Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday
launched the Lagos State Ferry Services
Corporation (LAGFERRY) operations, mobile app and inaugurated 14 commercial
boats.
The launch took place at Badore Ferry Terminal, Ajah
where the governor assured Lagosians that his government hopes to increase the commercial
boats to 30 before the end of the year, while 500 buses will also be injected
into the bus transport system to solve transportation problems.
“we are committed to developing water model
transportation as a strategy, to reduce congestion on our roads, which accounts
for over 90 per cent of commuting in Lagos State… There must be
interconnectivity of the rail, road and water transportation systems.”
The boats we hear will serve the Ikorodu, Ebute Ero,
CMS, Badore and Ikoyi and other routes.
