Ten students of St Mary's Senior Science College, Ediene Abak, today smiled home with with a total package of Five Hundred Thousand Naira, being an educational advancement award by Ini Ememobong Foundation for indigent and hardworking students of the school.
The receipients who came out with best WAEC results went home with the sum of N50,000 each including:
Edidiong Isaiah, A1(3), B2(1), B3(4), C4(1)
Edima Augustine, A1(1), B2(3), B3(4), C4(1)
Hannah Moshe, A1(2), B3(6), C4(1)
Deborah James, A1(2), B2(2), B3(3), C4(1), C6(1) and Solomon John, A1(2), B2(1), B3(4), C4(2).
Others include: Daniel Joseph, A1(1), B2(1), B3(4), C4(1), C6(2)
Abasiofon Friday, A1(1), B2(1), B3(6), C4(1)
Ndifreke Ekanem, A1(1), B3(7), C4(1)
Kingsley Edem, B2(4), B3(3), C4(1), C6(1) as well as Mfoniso Udedeh, B2(2), B3(3), C4(1), C5(2), C6(1).
Recall that on the 23rd of February, during the annual inter-house sports competition of the school, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the Chairman of the Foundation and State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, had, by way of encouraging the students to work hard towards their final exams to come out with good grades, pledged the sum of N50,000 each for 10 students with the most outstanding results.
The Chairman of the Foundation, himself an alumnus of the institution, today, Monday, 14th December, fulfilled the promise made to the 2020 graduands of Saint Mary's Senior Science College, Ediene Abak, Abak in the school's
Assembly hall, during this year's graduation and prize-giving ceremony.
Making the presentation on behalf of the Foundation's Chairman, Mr Godwin Okon charged the students to be good ambassadors of both their families and the school. He further advised the students to shun all forms of social vices and be of good behaviour.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Edidiong Isaiah who is also the best graduating student of the class thanked the Chairman of the foundation for the kind gesture.
"I want to thank Comrade Ini Ememobong for his thoughtfulness and kindheartedness towards the school and students. God will continue to bless him"
Responding the Principal General, Sir Isidore Pius Udonnah, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for always leading from the front. He stated that the level of success recorded in this year's WAEC exams could be attributed to the motivation the students got from the Chairman of the Foundation. He prayed good fortunes for the Foundation and its Chairman.
The event which had in attendance parents of the graduands, ainvited guests, Management and staff of the school, had as its theme: "THE POST-SMASCO LIFE".
