India sends 3.92 million Corona vaccines to Nigeria

India has sent 3.02 million Corona vaccines to Nigeria. The landing of the Covax at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Abuja, was witnessed by Abhay Thakur, the Indian High Commissioner in Nigeria, Sanjay Srivastava, President of Afro-Asian Initiative Community Development and Nigerian delegates led by the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. E. Osagie Ehanire.

Speaking exclusively to Paul Ukpabio’s Blog after the vaccines landed, Sanjay Srivastava, the President of Afro-Asian Initiative Community Development, said that:

“This is an ‘Indo-Nigeria’ friendly gesture, which is as a result of the most preferred trade and cultural exchange ties and partnership that has been taking place over the years between Nigeria and India: Both countries having lots of similarities which connects the people of the two countries together.


“The Covishield vaccines from Serum Institute of India, is the first vaccine approved by Nigeria and it is one of our largest vaccine consignments,” Sanjay Srivastava added.
