The Chadian Army has confirmed the death of President Idriss Déby after a bloody encouter with rebels. President Idriss Déby is said to have visted his loyal troops in the northern area of the country when the clash took place with the rebelling force. 

The military announcement takes into note a curfew imposed on the country as borders are shut.

However, his son, Mahamat Idriss Déby, soldier, 37, a 4 star general takes over pending an election expected to take place in the up coming months.
