Sanwo-Olu Urges Epe Residents To Provide Prompt Information For Emergency Response

To provide security and emergency management in the Epe Division of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday commissioned and handed over the Emergency and Security Regional Dispatch Center to members of the community.

Speaking at the ceremony in Lagos on Monday, Governor Sanwo-Olu tasked the people of Epe and its environs to ensure that the centre functions optimally and appealed for "support from the first responders in this facility by providing prompt information on emergency situations for effective and timely response."

"Our emergency numbers 112 and 767 are always
available (24/7) for the public to report emergencies," he disclosed.

The commissioning and delivery of this Emergency and
Security Regional Dispatch Centre, Sanwo-Olu noted, reinforces the commitment of his administration to the provision of a seamless and efficient safety, security and emergency management approach in Lagos State.

He said that "it is also a demonstration of the premium that
the government places on the safety of lives and property irrespective of where Lagosians choose to live within the state.'

According to the governor, " The Centre will serve as a hub and one stop facility for the efficient and rapid deployment of first responders to emergencies within Epe Local Government Area and its immediate vicinity.

"This facility has been staffed with well-trained personnel and furnished with the necessary equipment required for effective response to emergencies.

"It is designed to accommodate all
relevant safety and security agencies including the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services Agency (LSFS), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Lagos State Ambulance Services, Lagos State Environmental & Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), and the Ministry of Justice."

He said that as "A proactive government, we will not deviate from our goal of ensuring that every part of Lagos is safe and secure for our people. We will continue to invest in human and capital resources that guarantee the safety and security of all residents."
