...Tips Umo Eno for victory
United States of America based Akwa Ibom born social and political activist, Chief Thompson Essien has sent jitters into the camp of embattled Governorship aspirant and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Obong Bassey Albert a.k.a OBA after he predicted his imminent failure in the upcoming Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
Chief Essien who has become a formidable factor in Akwa Ibom politics from the diaspora over the years is reputed to predict clearly the intrigues and currents of Akwa Ibom politics.
In a post on his verified Facebook account, Chief Thompson yesterday posted:
"Onofiok Luke, Ita Enang, and Bassey Albert Akpan are all illustrious sons of AKS, but as far as AKS PDP Guber race is concerned, none of them will go beyond the Primary."
Chief Thompson's forecast came barely hours after the Governorship Aspirants on the PDP platform passed through the Governor Douye Diri led South South Governorship Screening Committee in Portharcourt, Rivers state.
Sources close to the campaign hierachy of OBA confided in our reporter that, this development threw the organisation into confusion as they didn't know how to respond to what pundits say is a correct analysis of the situation by Chief Thompson Essien.
Earlier, Chief Essien who is known to be fearless and speaks truth to power also predicted Victory for the leading Governorship Aspirant of the PDP, Pastor Umo Eno, describing him and another aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator John Udodehe as the only ones ready to make the cut for the Governorship race while also praying for their success.
"Umo Eno and Udoedehe: The two Akwa Ibom sons, ready to contest the governorship of AKS. I pray that God should continue to guard and protect them, " Thompson Essien wrote.
Our source who pleaded anonymity said the OBA Think Tank resolved to sponsor and send out stories discrediting the acceptability of Pastor Umo Eno and insinuate that Governor Udom Emmanuel is plotting to drop him for allegedly being unpopular.
The stories which have since been sent out, the source said, is a desperate strategy by OBA and his camp to cause distraction and if possible deceive the public.
However, investigations reveal that the camp of Pastor Umo Eno continues to swell as the PDP Primaries approaches and more erstwhile supporters of other Governorship aspirants are joining Pastor Umo Eno's support groups in their numbers.
Pastor Eno has however thanked party faithfuls for their massive support and pledged not to dissapoint them if elected into office. He said he remains focused on the goal and will not be derailed by lies and propaganda spread by opponents who are afraid of his Campaign Organisation alleging he has forged certificates.
Pastor Eno said he is more than ready for the PDP nomination primaries and called for issues based campaign.
