Though suspended by the Catholic church, Father Hyacinth Alia, a priest in the Catholic Diocese of Gboko, Benue State, has won in the governorship primary election held by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue state.
Father Alia was suspended by the church for joining the gubernatorial race.
He is said ti have polled over 7,000 votes to defeat Barnabas Gemade, ex- National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He also deafeated ex- Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Mike Aondoakaa, at the said Primaries.
