AN emergency meeting of the Gani Durbar festival Committee comes up Tuesday in New Bussa, Nigerstate, to discuss action plans adopted recently at a meeting hosted by the Emir of Borgu, Mai Borgu, Barrister Muhammad Dantoro, Kitoro the fourth.
Chairman, Borgu Gani Durbar festival Central working Committee, Alhaji( Dr) Ibrahim Goni, Kognan Borgu says the meeting slated to hold at the Haliru Dantoro Hall of the Borgu local government, Niger state, will evaluate details on funding for the festival and marshall out marketing communications timeliness, and corporate / governments support outreach designed to give everyone a robust buy in and not excluding collaborations.
"We are going to push for serious measures to make Gani Durbar festival one of the most enduring festivals in Nigeria which is why we are meeting on Tuesday to redouble our efforts to ensure we have a proper and well articulated action plans," he stated .
On funding, Kognan Borgu, who played pivotal efforts in the approval of ten new National parks across Nigeria by President Muhammadu Buhari last year as Conservator General of National Park service, noted that funding is critical to successful execution of the festival, which is noted as the best within the North Central region of Nigeria.
The meeting has a vertual option to enable those who may not be present physically to contribute to the proceedings of the meeting to be attended by sub committees heads and members on accommodation, funding, publicity and security.
Mr Peter Nze, Central working Committee secretary, says the outcome of the meeting, maybe made public since the idea is to have Nigerian Corporate world to be part of festival which is in its sixth edition.
Emir of Borgu, Alhaji (Barrister) Muhammad Sani Dantoro, Kitoro the fourth, inaugurated the Central working Committee about four months ago, mandating the committee to organise a world class Gani Durbar festival.
