... As Community Leaders Declare Stance for Guber Candidate
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, alongside its gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Umo, has been given a thumbs up by the people of Obio Offot in Uyo Local Government Area, while giving assurance that the community is solidly behind the party.
In a community meeting held recently, indigenes and leaders of Obio Offot who bared their minds on various issues, had a concensus on 2023, with a stance on supporting PDP, Pastor Umo Eno and other candidates of the party.
Speaking at the gathering, the Obio Offot born Commissioner for Environment, Sir Charles Udoh, who appreciated his kinsmen for the support given Governor Udom Emmanuel and PDP, encouraged them to keep faith with the party and continue to stand by the governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Eno as well as other candidates of PDP.
On her part, the Acting Ward Chairman of the party, Mrs Elizabeth Udoh, stated that Uyo Ward 6 has been a stronghold of PDP and will continue to be following the steadfast stand of the people who are unwilling to relent in their support for the party and vote all candidates of the party.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Obio Offot community, Mr Ubong Essien, noted that their trust of good governance lies with PDP and in the tradition of the party, the next batch of great leaders produced by the party will keep up with the development plan of the state, while reassuring that Obio Offot will not fail in delivering winning votes to Pastor Umo Eno.
A community leader in the area, Hon. Solomon Udosen in what was a strong declaration, posited that Obio Offot's stance with Pastor Umo Eno and the PDP is a settled issue that awaits full execution by 2023, adding that the meeting is just to serve as reminder of the position of the community.
The Obio Offot Youth President and others who ventilated their points, agreed that Obio Offot is PDP and that the youth of the community are constantly in support of the party and candidates of the party.
The meeting ended with a vote of confidence passed on Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP with a promise to ensure victory for the party in 2023.
