In a strategic swing to open larger collaborative reach out to key industry players, President, Tourist Boat Operators and Water Transporters of Nigeria (ATBOWATON) Dr Gani Tarzan Balogun, led the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria President, Nkereuwem Onung and others to meet, waterfront restaurateur and recreation promoter, Mide Adegbite, owner of top flight Kingfisher waterfront hangout in Lekki, lagos.
Others who joined the meeting were, Chairman FTAN WTD fund raising committee, Mr Tobi Ogunleye, Chinyere Dike, and Kate Ejike, South west VP, of FTAN, Tunde Kolade and Mrs Ime Udo of Natop.
Dr Gani Tarzan Balogun who is also a top water crafts tourism influencer and waterfront recreation investor, introduced the team to Mide Adegbite whose Kingfisher outfit is a major hangout for celebrities and watertourism enthusiats, and informed him that world tourism day celebration will be celebrated differently, hence the strategic move to visit him and introduce FTAN President who is also deep into tourism logistics.
Mr Nkereuwem Onung commended the Kingfisher initiative and called for a bigger and better collaboration to bring all industry players to one table, come September 27th, this year .
"We want to showcase our capacity, our members who can hold forth and be ambassadors for the sector. We want to see real men, industry players with abilities, capacity, projects and practical and bankable tourism ideas that can help change our narratives and give the industry a head start" FTAN President disclosed.
Kingfishers exponent and influencer, Mide Adegbite said he was honoured by the visit of the top leaders of the Federation and encouraged by their kind commendation of his little efforts, adding that his outfit is a work in progress, one stop entertainment and recreation services company, fussing together watercraft logistics support, Hospitality and beach gateway facilities and targeting Nigerians and foreigners with adventurous bent.
He assured that he would be part of the FTAN family and appreciates Dr Balogun, FTAN President, Nkereuwem Onung and the team for finding time to visit, noting Nigeria is incomparable in diversity of tourism possibilities despite challenges facing the sector.
