According to Tim S. Glover, “There are four components of winning that determine how you’ll manage your fears and doubts and make that leap, or if you’ll make it at all. Talent. Intelligence. Competitiveness. Resilience.”
These unassailable traits define the journey of the All Nations Christian Ministry International, founded eighteen years ago by Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, who is also the Undershepherd of the Ministry.
That the church has grown in leap and bound - having many branches and congregants across Akwa Ibom and beyond, in the last eighteen years - is not the crux, as the capacity, consistency and character which the founder, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno and his indefatigable wife, Patience, have brought to bear, in its running and that of their numerous businesses.
This, perhaps, lends a voice to Harry Truman, an American leader, who said that, “Men make history and not the other way around. In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.”
Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)Gubernatorial Candidate has proven himself an epitome of versatility, resilience, agility, consistency, innovation and character; which in totality summarize Tim S. Glover’s four components of winning. These qualities account for the unparalleled height he has reached in the hospitality industry.
It is not an accident of history that Royalty Group has survived adversity, to emerge the most enduring hotel in Akwa Ibom State, as most of the hotels that held sway, when Royalty was founded, have been run aground. This is a testament of consistency, resilience and innovation, which are the linchpin of competitiveness in the globalization era.
Also, the ability to run a church of such vast magnitude with many other businesses, underscore Umo Eno’s ingenuity in multitasking, which is a trait for creative and ingenious leaders. The writer, therefore, opines that such a trait at the disposal of Umo Eno, would lead to productivity and prosperity in Akwa Ibom State, when he becomes Governor in 2023.
Apart from being the founder of Royalty Group, which is the most enduring hotel and hospitality business in the state, Umo Eno has operated industrial catering services in 12 platforms of different Offshore Oil Fields, while catering for over 2000 people daily on a menu list for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Some of these platforms include, ExxonMobil which he held sway for twelve years and Chevron Agbami FPSO, for eleven (11) years, among other multinationals and oil servicing companies. This is the highest point of logistics management in this part of the world.
Only a leader with great courage and vision like Umo Bassey Eno would build a transgenerational business such as the Royalty Group - intentionally, considering the next 100 years and beyond. This is the reason his son, Ebong Eno, is the Managing Director of Royalty Group.
What this portends is that building for the future requires focus on the big-picture, needs principles, rather than on the detailed process. Thus, Umo Bassey Eno is intentional about his legacy - for which his future generations will remember him. This defines altruism that Akwa Ibom State needs in their Governor from May 29, 2023.
Therefore, the eighteenth anniversary of All Nations Christian Ministry International provides an ample opportunity to celebrate ingenuity, character, consistency and innovation, exemplified in Pastor Umo Bassey Eno. PUE is married to his lovely wife, Patience, and blessed with beautiful children and grandchildren.
