Umo Eno: On Partnership with the Traditional Institution

Traditional rulers promote peace, foster cohesion and contribute to the political system of governance. Government on its part, ensures that it partners with the traditional institution to ensure that  the people live harmoniously in the state.

The importance of partnering with the traditional rulers was today 24th September 2022 reechoed by Pastor Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, during the swearing-in of the Paramount Ruler of Ini Local Government Area at the State Council of Chiefs:

‘I want to thank the Oku Ibom Ibibio, and by extension all the Paramount Rulers for the cooperation that you've given his Excellency in the past 7 and a half years. You've worked with him and we've not heard of any issues at all. You have held your domain very well and that has made Akwa Ibom State very peaceful, because if you have not done your work very well, Akwa Ibom wouldn't be as peaceful as it is today. So, we thank you our traditional fathers for holding strong your domain, and we trust that you will continue to do so, even beyond this administration.’

With Pst. Umo Eno as Governor of Akwa Ibom State from May 2023, there will be enhanced synergy and partnership with the traditional institution for the sustenance of the existing peace and prosperity in the state…”
