...Pledges to Enhance Human Capital Development through Agriculture

A nexus has been established between healthcare delivery and rural development in Akwa Ibom State. This typified the talking points of the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Pst Umo Eno at the party’s campaign rally in Nsit Atai, Monday, December 12, 2022
Pst Eno, amidst pomp and splendor, pledged to complete the abandoned Nsit Atai General Hospital, as well as enhance human capital development through agricultural revolution.
The Governorship Candidate, who was accompanied by his wife, Pst. Mrs. Patience and his running mate, Sen. Akon Iyakenyi made the avowal, Monday at the PDP Governorship Campaign Rally in Nsit Atai Local Government Area.
Addressing the rally, Eno stressed the need for people-oriented projects, and noted that the rural development plans captured in the Arise Agenda will find greater expression in the completion of the abandoned Nsit Atai General Hospital and the execution of agricultural revolution programmes which will foster financial independence and self-reliance among indigenes of Nsit Atai.
He further promised to open up agricultural businesses in the area and also build a market so the youths and women in the area will be gainfully employed.
Making reference to the infrastructural revolution facilitated by the past and present administrations, the seasoned entrepreneur and technocrat stated that upon his emergence as governor, come 2023, his administration will consolidate on the infrastructural ascent, as well as foster entrepreneurial development by creating businesses that will in turn create jobs for the citizenry.
In his words, "Akwa Ibom State is blessed with infrastructure. What we intend to do is to foster entrepreneurial development and create businesses that will create jobs for Akwa Ibom people"
"I know how to cease an opportunity when I see one. We are going to train people to recognize the vast opportunities surrounding us; opportunities that is available in agriculture, tourism, etc"
"I see very low-hanging fruits around us and as soon as we come into government, by the grace of God, within the first 100 days, Nsit Atai will see the mark of that government."
Speaking at the rally, the State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan thanked the people of Nsit Atai for their warm reception and charged them to continue supporting the PDP for sustainable development and inclusive governance.
