As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State officially wrapped up campaign in the State, the Paramount Ruler of Onna Local Government Area, HRM Edidem Raymond Timothy Inyang has stated that Pastor Umo Eno is the choice of Onna Local Government Area for the forthcoming governorship elections.
The royal father stated this when the PDP/Pastor Umo Eno and Akon Eyakenyi campaign team paid a courtesy visit on him before proceeding to the Chief Akpabio Udo Ukpa Stadium for the grand finale of campaign.
He also showered traditional blessings
on the PDP governorship candidate with a declaration that God will grant him victory.
For the record, Pastor Umo Eno has taken the message of the ARISE Agenda to all the local government areas in the State and has enjoyed royal blessings from all the paramount rulers and was sealed by Edidem Raymond Inyang.
The royal father stated that Pastor Eno is not a stranger in Onna and revealed that the PDP governorship hopeful has been a personal friend for many years.
While describing Pastor Eno as a leader that can be trusted, he said, "because of who you are as a pastor. Onna will support you in full. You are our choice in Onna, and we have accepted you as our candidate.
He commended Governor Emmanuel for being responsive to the needs of Onna people and assured that they will continue to pray for him and stand by him through his administration and even beyond.
To seal up the blessings, the monarch presented a Holy Bible to Pastor Eno,urging him to continuously put his hope on God.
Earlier, while addressing the traditional father, Pastor Eno said he was in the palace to pay homage before proceeding for the grand finale of the campaign.
He said the Onna visit is not for campaign per se but for celebration of good governance by their son, Governor Udom Emmanuel, whom he said was divinely ordained for the state.
The governorship hopeful noted that despite being plagued by recessions and the covid-19, which has crippled some states, Akwa Ibom still remains on a steady path of development with numerous impactful projects.
He maintained that his ties with Onna LGA dates back to years, adding that a stronger bond has been created between Onna and Nsit Ubium which according to him, will transcend generations.
Pastor Eno who was accompanied by his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Patience, and the deputy governorship candidate, Senator Akon Eyakenyi appreciated Governor Emmanuel, the monarch and the people of Onna for choosing to support him in the forthcoming governorship elections and assured everyone that he would not let them down; but would further on the development strides of their son.
