The last definitely has not been heard about the Adamawa gubernatorial election. Moments after the declaration of Senator Aishatu Binani as the governor-elect, controversy spread from Adamawa across the nation.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has at the time of going to press, revoked the declaration of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the said Governorship Election.
A copy of a statement made by Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner, Information and Voter Education, flew across several news pages and floated easily on online social media spaces, stating that much!
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) is said to have announced the result even when the process has clearly not been concluded.
“Consequently, the collation of results of the supplementary election is hereby suspended. The REC, Returning Officer and all involved are hereby invited to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja immediately," said he statement.
