GOV EMMANUEL'S HISTORIC COMPLETION OF 2,500 SEATER ASAN IBIBIO COMPLEX

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel made history on Monday, 8th May, 2023, by commissioning the newly constructed Asan Ibibio Ultra Modern Complex after several attempts by successive administrations to complete the building in nearly forty years. 

The inauguration, held at the premises of the newly constructed complex in Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo, was described as historic and significant in the chronicles of the Ibibio people and their cultural heritage. 

Emmanuel described Ibibio people as peaceable, said as the forth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, they deserve a befitting assemply complex for Important occasions. 

" This place was an eyesore, totally dilapidated and didn't represent anything good and we said an edifice like this should serve the entire state and mankind ". 

"This structure will unify our people as another unity hall. It has lots of modern facilities with economic value. It is a major economic alternative to other halls in Uyo ". He said. 

While presenting the overview of the building, the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga said, the Complex is the largest in the state with the capacity to accommodate about two thousand five hundred people at a time. 

According to Ibanga, "This hall has three galaries with seven offices and a special conference room and another one that can sit two hundred people at anytime. It has twenty five lavatories and the building can be accessed by every one including people with disability". 

Meanwhile, Oku Ibom Ibibio and Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Council of Cheifs, His Eminence, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk said the Ibibio and Akwa Ibom people in general were proud of Governor Udom Emmanuel's performance, especially for his affort at providing modern infrastructure a cross the state. 

"This building will promote unity amongst our people. It will also serve as an assembly point, therefore we must continue to work together for our unity and common good". The monarch emphasied.
