... Donates items for celebration
In the spirit of Eid-El-Kabir, the Akwa Ibom State government, Wednesday morning hosted leaders of the Muslim community in the State. The Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno highlighted the significance of Eid-El-Kabir, saying it's a feast of sacrifice which signifies obedience and submission to the will of God.
Speaking through the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Pastor Umo Eno acknowledged the contributions of members of the Muslim community to the socio-economic development of Akwa Ibom State and their support for him in the last election.
The highpoint of the event was the donation of various gift items, including bags of rice, rams, cows etc. to the community to share in the spirit of the season.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Arewa Community in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Emmanuel Ogbole described the Governor as a man of his word and thanked him for identifying with the Muslim community in the State during the Sallah.
The event was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah and other officials of government.
