Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Ogun State has called on the Ogun State government to stop forth payment of his monthly pension, as a former governor.
The former governor waried of probably running into future trouble noted that his request is in view of the “ethical code against double emoluments that a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who hitherto was a former State Governor shall not be entitled to the payment of pension and allowances from such state.”
In the same vein, he noted that, he had not benefitted from any welfare packages, be it medical, furniture, transportation and others, since he left office in 2011.
Daniel is presently, a Senator representing Ogun East, and is one of the senators that was inaugurated on 13th June at the National Assembly.
