Students Enjoy Life At Their Mountain School Gog and Magog At Shere Hills, Jos

This is the only Mountain School in Nigeria for Military and Para Military (Citizenship and Leadership Training Center) 

Upto date, the Hills houses an ancestral settlement (Village) at about 3000 ft above the sea level (Ridem Village of Shere)   making them the highest peak Dwellers on the plateau 

The name Shere, is a House Hold name of one clan of Afizere (Jarawa) tribe  of plateau.

From 100 Steps - Afizere Settlement, Jos Museum,  you will have an excellent view of Shere Hills. 

Another ancestral Settlement of Afizere with about 1200ft above the Sea Level.  

Before colonial era, most Afizere people lives on Hills, flat lands were mostly for farming. Till date, most clans from Federe axis of Jos east visits their ancestral settlement on hills for either prayers or historical purposes.
