DUSSEHRA FESTIVAL CELEBRATED WITH GRANDEUR AND JOY IN LAGOS

The vibrant spirit of the Dussehra festival, signifying the triumph of good over evil, the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya, and the victory of Goddess Durga over demons, echoed through the halls of Geeta Ashram Trust Nigeria in Lagos. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 1000 members of the Indian and expatriate community, transforming the event into a spectacle of cultural heritage and unity being organized by OFBJP NIGERIA. 

The highlight of the evening was the mesmerizing stage performances by children, captivating the audience and beautifully preserving the rich tapestry of Bhartiya culture for the generations to come. The Geeta Ashram Trust Nigeria proved to be a perfect host, providing an ideal venue for this cultural extravaganza.

Honored by the presence of Shri Chandramauli Kern, the Consulate General of India, Lagos the event reached its pinnacle when he addressed the audience and ceremoniously burnt the effigy of Ravana. Shri Kern praised the efforts of the organisors and the Geeta Ashram Trust in preserving and transferring cultural heritage to the next generation and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their support.

The President of OFBJP Nigeria highlighted the commendable efforts of the Modi Government in extending its outreach to the NRI community, underscoring the government's dedication to restoring the spiritual glory of Bharat. The event was meticulously coordinated by a dedicated team, including Mr. Pravin Kumar, Mr. Vipin Singh, Mr. Dheerendra Chaouhan, Mr. Shanti Bhushan, Mr. Sabir Ali, Mr. Vikas Arya, Mrs. Raakhi Bilanadani, Mrs. Supriya Sinha, Mrs. Jyoti Nautiyal, Mrs. Palna Pareekh, Mrs. Ritu Tyagi, Mr. Najam Jaidi, and Mr. Sanjay Jha, alongside many other esteemed EXCOM members.

Mr. Pravin Kumar, the General Secretary, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, parents, choreographers, and sponsors, including Speciality Group, Daraju Group, Deekay Group, Green Fuel, MM Tours, GBMT, Enjoy Food, Omnic Group, Nature & Pepsi. He emphasized the invaluable contribution of these supporters in making the event a grand success.

The celebration not only showcased the rich cultural heritage but also conveyed a powerful message about the importance of practicing cultural values, leaving a lasting impression on the younger generation. As the festivities of Dussehra fade away, the OFBJP Nigeria extends warm greetings for the upcoming festival of lights, Diwali, to the Indian Diaspora and the host community.
