The Nigerian Senate resumed from its Christmas and new year recess, with its President, Godswill Akpabio asking senators to set aside their personal differences and work together to achieve good governance in the interest of the country.
Akpabio while welcoming the lawmakers from their new year break, stated strategic collaboration between the Federal Executive Council and the National Assembly would help address the hydra-headed challenges that beset Nigeria.
He said that such collaboration would enable the realisation of President Bola Tinubu's renewed hope agenda.
While the federal lawmakers were away from legislative functions, a series of activities and events that had worsened the security situation of the country and the nation’s economy had happened.
